Elma Alene Witte, 88, of Clyde, died Thursday, June 21, 2018, in Eden, Tx.  Funeral services will be at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, June 27, 2018, at Bailey-Howard Funeral Home Chapel with Jim Hall officiating.  Burial will follow in the Eula Cemetery under the direction of Bailey-Howard Funeral Home.  Visitation will be from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

Alene was born July 18, 1929, in Eula, Texas, to Loyd and Cynthia Miller Farmer.  She was a graduate of Eula High School.  She was the activity director for Mountain View Lodge and had worked as a switchboard operator for Southwestern Bell.  She was a homemaker for many years.  Alene married Curtis R. Witte on October 17, 1948, in Eula.  They lived in Big Spring before moving to Clyde in 1990.

Alene is survived by one son, Gary Witte and wife DeLynnda of Midland; three daughters, Vicki Arnold and husband Tony of Kyle, Paula Kolb and husband Jeff of The Woodlands and Darla Willis and husband Johnny of Eden; two sisters, Rose Farmer and Annabeth Favor and husband Bob, all of New Braunfels; and brother-in-law George Welch of Clyde; 13 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Curtis Witte; one son, Randall Witte; one granddaughter, Randi Jo Witte; and a sister, Loyd Welch.
