Annie Marie was born January 6, 1921 in Sweetwater to Edward and Georgia Clendennen. She attended school in Sweetwater, graduating from Newman High School in 1938. She married the love of her life, William Coppedge, on January 2, 1940. They raised two children, Arvin and Ann, in Sweetwater before moving to Abilene in 1950.
Annie was first and foremost a loving wife, mother and granny, but worked in her later years as an assistant bookkeeper and in the insurance industry. She was a longtime member of the First Baptist Church in Clyde and previously a member of the Southside Baptist Church of Brownwood. She loved to travel and fish with her husband, William, but will be most remembered for her love of family and friends, her deep faith in God and unfailing sense of humor. She was truly everyone's Granny.
Annie was preceded in death by her husband William Coppedge, her second husband, Arvel McClure, her daughter, Ann Collier, her son-in-law, Kenneth Collier, her granddaughter, Lisa Diane Coppedge, her brother, George "Pete" Clendennen and her parents.
Annie is survived by her son, Arvin Coppedge and wife, Merrilyn; her grandchildren, Bill Coppedge and wife Cathie, Steven Coppedge, Laurie Patton, Jack Collier, Richard Collier and Tim Collier and wife Lori. She was also blessed to have had the chance to know and love 14 great grandchildren and their spouses and 15 great-great grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Brandon Carpenter, Tanner Collier, Bo Patton, Josh Patton, Perry Davidson and Kyle Davidson.
