Barbie Jean Helmer, 41, of Abilene died Saturday, January 12, 2019 in an Abilene hospice facility. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, January 20, 2019 at the Bailey Howard Funeral Home Chapel of Clyde with Pastor Larry Hooper officiating. Visitation will be held from 4:00 until 6:00 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.

Barbie was born October 16, 1977 in Abilene to Anthony and Brenda (Egger) Helmer. She was raised in a military family and attended schools in Florida, Okinawa, South Dakota and Texas. She worked as a customer service representative in Abilene for S.A.C. West for a few years and had also worked in retail sales. She was a Baptist.

She is survived by her parents, Brenda and Tony Helmer of Abilene; her dad, Buddy Criswell of Abilene; five children, Aly Teague of Abilene, Cutter Nelson, Lorin Taylor, Morgan Taylor and Bailee Taylor, all of Haynesville, Louisiana; sister Lee Moon and husband Greg of Abilene; three brothers, T.J. Helmer of San Angelo, Chad Criswell and wife Cynthia of Aspermont and Cory Criswell and wife Jessica of Stephenville; one niece, eight nephews and numerous uncles, aunts and cousins.

Barbie was preceded in death by her grandparents, W.C. Egger, Lila Marie Matheny and Tony and Irene Helmer.
