Becky Anne Courington Westmoreland passed away Sunday, October 5, 2025, at her home surrounded by family. She will be laid to rest at Neinda Cemetery with a memorial / visitation from 11:00 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. on Saturday, October 18, 2025, at Bailey Howard Funeral Home in Clyde.

Becky was born to Samuel Delmar Courington and Delta Ree Kniffen Courington, the day the circus came to town in Abilene, Texas, on October 27, 1946. Waiting at home in their new house across the street from Mrs. Baird's Bakery were her sister, Sunny, and her brother, Jerry. They lived there until she was three years old when they moved to the Houston suburb of Bellaire, and subsequently to the Spring Branch suburb where her younger brother, Sammie was born. Moving back to Abilene in 1958, Becky graduated from Abilene High School and attended Abilene Christian College (now Abilene Christian University). In 1968 Becky married John Elliott Olvera who died after only one year and one day of marriage. She gave birth to their daughter, Rebekah, ten days later. In 1971 she married a widower, Gene Westmoreland, and they created a "yours, mine and ours" family with the birth of Bonnie Gene in 1972. Becky was blessed to be a stay-at-home mother, although she loved to sew and created many dresses including several wedding gowns and bridesmaid dresses for brides in Abilene. Since quilts do not have to be fitted, she turned to quilting which she continued as long as she lived. She also loved to sing and sang at many weddings and funerals.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her first husband, and her sister Sunny Stephens-Stout. Those left behind include her husband Gene, her daughters Rebekah Green (Jeff) and Bonnie Yang (husband), her brothers Jerry Courington (Susie) and Sammie Courington (Leslie) as well as children by marriage Marsha Morgan (Chip) and John Westmoreland (Yanna). Grandchildren Averie Davis, Eva Freeman, Wolf Yang, Dana Jaworski (Jeff), Amy Lightfoot (Will), Katie Westmoreland (Jonah), Brent Westmoreland (Kelli), and Asher Green. Great grandchildren are Lief, Nate, Katheryn, Willow and Archer.

Becky was a firm believer in God, having been baptized into Christ.
