Obituary

Bette Darrelynn Garner, 81, died Sunday, June 21, 2020, at her home in Clyde.  No services are planned at this time.

Bette was born November 3, 1938, in Huntington Beach, CA, to Darrell and Lota Faye (Weeks) Grogan.  She graduated from Spur High School.  She married Dewey Phelps Garner on December 23, 1954 in Spur.  Bette was a secretary in the oil field.

Bette was a fantastic and loving mother to Glori and Les, wife of 65 years to Dewey, and grandmother to Josh, Tanner, Carly and Hailey.  She also possessed a remarkable sense of humor that got us all through tough and trying times.  She loved the Lord and her church family at First Baptist Church in Clyde.  Her knowledge and ability to play bridge was second to no one.  She was a member of the Desk and Derrick, and too many bridge clubs to list.  She will be missed by her family, friends and community.

Bette is survived by her husband, Dewey Garner of Clyde; her daughter, Glori and spouse Tim Ferguson of Odessa; her son, Les and spouse Mollie Garner of Loveland, Colorado; her sister, Rozan Crow of Roswell, New Mexico; her sister-in-law, Gayle Hudson of Hillsboro; her grandchildren, Joshua and Tanner Ferguson, Hailey and Carly Garner; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Darrell and Lota Grogan; and her brother, Drury Grogan.
