Betty Joyce Godbee, 85, of Clyde passed away on Thursday, July 13, 2023, in an Abilene care center. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, July 17, 2023, at Bailey Howard Funeral Home Chapel with Chaplain David Stevens officiating. Burial will follow in Clyde Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4:00 until 6:00 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

Betty was born July 21, 1937, in Cullman, Alabama, to Matthew and Lucille (McCullum) Pugh. She graduated high school in Hanceville, Alabama. Betty married Manuel Godbee in Cullman, Alabama, on February 2, 1957.  They moved to Abilene in 1959 and then to Clyde in 1972. Betty was a member of First Baptist Church and a homemaker.

She is survived by her husband of 66 years, Manuel Godbee of Clyde; her brother, Matthew Pugh of Decatur, Alabama; and her sister, Pauline "Polly" Webb of Decatur, Alabama.

Betty was preceded in death by her parents, Matthew and Lucille Pugh; and her daughter, Lynn Godbee.
