Bill Jonas, 88, of Clyde, died Saturday, November 9, 2019, at Hendrick Hospice in Abilene.  Funeral services are scheduled for 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, November 12, 2019, at the Bailey-Howard Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Toby Henson officiating.  Burial will follow in the Clyde Cemetery.  Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. until service time at the funeral home on Tuesday.

Bill was born July 16, 1931, in Winters, Texas, to Willie and Dora Florida (Williams) Jonas.  He graduated from Winters High school and Hardin Simmons University in Abilene.  Bill served in the US Army during the Korean War.  He married Elizabeth Ann Arp at First Baptist Church in Abilene on December 22, 1955.  They moved to Clyde from Abilene in 1982.  Bill retired from US Brass in Plant Maintenance after 28 years.

Bill is survived by his wife Elizabeth (Liz) Jonas of Clyde; two daughters, Sherry Diane Jonas Darby of Denton and Christy Denise Jonas of Granbury; two brothers, Freddy Jonas and Don Jonas; and two grandchildren, Nicole Marie Darby and Ashley Ann Darby.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his son, Jerry Don Jonas; and his sisters, Dorothy Goodloe and Joyce Marie Jonas.
