Obituary

Billie Mae Proctor, 82, of Albany passed away Monday, December 18, 2023, in an Abilene nursing home. A graveside service will be held at 2;00 p.m. on Friday, December 29, 2023, at Dennis Cemetery with Pastor Dennis Chappell officiating under the direction of Bailey Howard Funeral Home of Clyde. Visitation will be from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. Thursday at Friendship Baptist Church in Albany.

Billie was born December 13, 1941, in Moran to A.J. (Pond Digger) and Roxie (Dorsey) Basket. She attended school in Moran. She worked as a caregiver, Certified Aide and seamstress.  She had a love for people and would always lend a helping hand if needed.  She had been known to climb on a roof or anything that needed to be fixed. She was a Baptist and played the piano and sang at the United Pentecostal church in Albany. She also loved growing beautiful things and sewing.  Billie was well known for her daily walks and the friendly spirit she shared.

She is survived by two sons; Dean Eller of Escondido, California and Scott Eller of Albany; one sister, Betty Pilcher of Eunice, New Mexico; four grandchildren, Kimberly Natividad, Patrick Eller, Kristen Eller and Cortlin Eller; and two great grandchildren, Celine Natividad and Ezra Eller.

Billie was preceded in death by her parents and three sisters, Bobbie Joe Jernigan, Juanita Whitt and Wanda Byrline Martin.
