Billy Rex Sparks, 80, of Clyde died Wednesday, December 16, 2020 at him home. A graveside service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, December 19, 2020 at Elmwood Memorial Park in Abilene with Marcy Grunn officiating.

Billy was born June 28, 1940 in Gorman to Lowell and Jessie Ireta (Whitefield) Sparks. He graduated from Lingleville High School in Erath County. He served his country in the U.S. Army from 1964 to 1965. He married Linda Johnson in Midland on June 11, 1982. They moved to Midland from Odessa in 1966 and again to Clyde in 1983. He worked as a paramedic and EMT for the Midland Fire Department for 24 years. He was also a farmer and rancher and a member of the Secondhand Cowboy Church.

He is survived by his wife of 38 years, Linda Sparks; daughters, Jamie Tucker of Haskell and Kimberly Richardson of Oklahoma; five grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.

Billy was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Roger Dale Sparks.
