Vernon Carl Tunnell, 58, of Clyde died Monday, July 6, 2020 at his home. A graveside service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, July 10, 2020 at the Tecumseh Cemetery under the direction of Bailey Howard Funeral Home of Clyde. Visitation will be held from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

Carl was born February 27, 1962 in Anson to Vernon and Darlene (Large) Tunnell. He graduated from Cooper High School and then attended Cisco Junior College, receiving his HVAC Technician License. He married Susan Collins in Abilene on June 13, 1986. He worked for Abilene Sheet Metal / McMillan Mechanical for over 20 years. He was a lifetime resident of the Clyde and Abilene areas.

He is survived by his wife of 34 years, Susan Tunnell of Clyde; daughter Andrea Webb of Abilene; two sons, Gary Tunnell and wife Katie of Abilene and James Tunnell and wife Kaydi of Abilene; brother James Tunnell and wife Ellie of California; ten grandchildren, Brittany, Chaz, Brandon, Brayden, Jayden, Bryson, Jakobie, Brooklyn, Zavier, Zayden and one on the way; one great grandchild on the way; niece Nichole Tunnell of Kentucky; nephew David Tunnell of California and numerous other relatives and friends.

Carl was preceded in death by his parents and his grandson Xander Tunnell.
