Carolyn Ann Bales, 62, of Horseshoe Bay died Thursday, November 22, 2018 in a nursing home in Baird. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, December 16, 2018 at the Fairview Cemetery in Bastrop.

Carolyn was born October 8, 1956 in Austin to Roland and Teresa (Sliva) Roe Bender. She formerly worked as a cook and a nurse's aide in nursing homes. She loved her family with all her heart and she called her son Nick, baby boy. Carolyn and Nick we're so close and her grandbabies were her angel babies.

She is survived by her father Roland Roe and wife Pamela of Sealy; one son, Nicholas Aaron Roe and wife Amber Leigh Roe of Burnet County; three brothers, Mike Roe and wife Minnie of Vidor, Andy Roe and wife Sherry of Missouri and Jason Roe of Sealy; grandchildren, Luke Aaron Roe, Jacob Allen Roe and Dayne Elizabeth Roe. She is also survived by  aunts, cousins and friends.

Carolyn was preceded in death by her mother, Teresa and her grandparents, Andrew and Annie Roe.
