Carolyn Cox, 69, of Abilene died Sunday, February 11, 2018 in a Fort Worth hospital. A celebration of life will be held at a later date. Arrangements by Bailey Howard Funeral Home of Clyde.

Carolyn was born June 20, 1948 in Abilene to Tom and Ethel (Steele) Lackey. She graduated from Eula High School and married Burl Cox in Clyde on July 8, 1966. She was hairdresser for many years. She also worked for the Department of Defense at Dyess AFB in security.

She is survived by her husband Burl Cox of Abilene; two sons, John Cox and wife Kristie of Clyde and James Cox and wife Lisa of Abilene; four brothers, Johnny, Ivan, William and Tommy Lackey, all of Abilene; three sisters, Barbara Simon of Kerrville, Ethel Jackson of Abilene and Sandra Haynes of Clyde; six grandchildren and one great grandchild.

Carolyn was preceded in death by her parents, sister Mary Allen, brother Buddy Lackey and great grandson Joel.
