Cassie Allen Tarrant ,77, of Abilene, Texas peacefully passed away May 22, 2020, with her daughter, sister (Pauline), and granddaughters by her side.

She was born in Brownsville, Texas, on December 1, 1942, to George William Allen and Sylvia Duncan. She attended school in Clyde, Texas. She married the love of her life, Eddie Don Tarrant, on December 22, 1959, at Denton Valley Baptist Church.

After working several administrative positions, she retired from BlueCross BlueShield of Abilene in 2010.  She enjoyed spending time with her family, various arts and crafts, baking, and gardening. She loved to crochet and often had several projects going at one time. Besides spending time with her daughter, Sue, as well as her granddaughters Stephanie and Sara, you would always find her with Don. Her other favorite activity included loving on her great grandbabies. She was also proud of her grandsons-in-law Adam Teer and Steven Culp. She loved her family with all her heart and was so proud of all they accomplished.

Cassie is survived by her daughter Sue Melton (Tarrant) of Royse City, Texas; her granddaughter Stephanie Teer and husband Adam of Sulphur Springs, Texas; her granddaughter Sara Culp and Steven of Oceanside, California; her great grandchildren Hannah, Eli, CJ,  and Joey Teer; Connally and Graham Culp; her siblings Pauline Allen of Jane, Missouri, Linda Kile of Pea Ridge, Arkansas, James Allen of Avoca, Missouri, Caroline Smith of Springfield, Missouri, Wayne Duncan of Post, Texas, Matt Duncan of Post, Texas, and Robert Duncan of Midland, Oklahoma. As well as several nieces and nephews.

Cassie was preceded in death by her husband Don Tarrant, father George William Allen, mother Sylvia Duncan, and brother Jackie Allen.

A graveside service will be held Tuesday, May 26, 2020 at 2:00 pm at Eula Cemetery.
