Obituary

Royce Charlene Brown 90, of Clyde died Friday, August 3, 2018 at an Abilene Care Center. Graveside services will be at 10:00 a.m. Monday, August 6, 2018, at the Clyde Cemetery with Dr. Toby Henson officiating, under the direction of Bailey Howard Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

Charlene was born February 17, 1928, in Ft. Worth to Barney and Paulene (Spears) Love. She grew up in Seagraves and graduated from Seagraves High School. Charlene was the widow of Dan Brown whom she married in Seagraves on May 11, 1947. She and Dan moved to Clyde from Abilene in 1975. She worked as a medical assistant for Dr. Estes Merrick for 16 years. Charlene was a member of First Baptist Church of Clyde.

Charlene is survived by her two sons, Dan Brown, Jr. of Ft. Worth and Mark and wife Brenda Brown of Abilene; her daughter, Sally Morris Simmering and husband Pete of Abilene; one sister, Helen Pina of Tucson; five grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Dan Brown; her brother, B. G. Love; and her sister Barbara Anderson.
