Charlie Sue Scott Blair passed away on Friday, December 29, 2023, at her home in Abilene.  Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, January 2, 2024, at the Eula First Baptist Church with Rev. Blake White officiating.  Visitation will be at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday prior to the service.  Burial will follow in the Dudley Cemetery under the direction of Bailey-Howard Funeral Home in Clyde.

Sue was born September 22, 1930, in Callahan County to John Edwin Scott Jr. and Ora Mae (Simmons) Scott.  Sue accepted Jesus Christ as her Savior at a very young age.  Her faith became site on December 29, 2023, at the age of 93.

She grew up in the Denton Valley and Dudley areas.  She graduated from Denton Valley High School in 1947 as Salutatorian of her class. She married Girves Edward (Ed) Blair on August 17, 1962.  Together they raised five children.

Sue was a member of the First Baptist Church of Eula for over 60 years.  Sue worked at the Candy Factory for six months, Timex for 13 years, Langford Sewing Factory for two years and Wholesale Food Supply before she and Ed bought the Eula Drive In Grocery in 1978, where she faithfully served the people of the Eula Community for over 30 years.

Sue exemplified Christ in all that she did.  She served in the children's ministry at the church for over 30 years.  She opened her home to those in need of a home, as well as to those who just needed a place to stay for a few days.  Sue many times provided groceries, gas and medicine to those in need.  She would show up whenever and wherever she was needed.  Sue never met a stranger and she loved like Jesus.  Many hours were spent reading her bible and in prayer for her family and community.  Over the last several years, due to her physical health, her service to the Lord and those around her was in the form of prayer, phone calls and giving sound Godly advice.

Sue was an avid sports fan.  Some of her favorite teams were the Texas Rangers and the Dallas Cowboys.  Although the Eula Pirates were a rival when she was in school, they soon became her favorite team.  She supported the Pirates in all their endeavors and over the years has spent numerous hours in the gym, at the track, stock shows, class programs, etc.  She has had a child, grandchild or great grandchild playing ball at Eula for the past 50 years.

Sue was preceded in death by her husband, Ed Blair in 1990, a daughter Karen Sue Henley and son-in-law Robert (Bob) Henley, as well as her parents, three brothers and three sisters.

She is survived by daughter Barbara Wright and husband Kenneth, daughter Debbie Smith and husband Curtis, son Gary Blair and wife Devilyn, and daughter Tandi Riley and husband Eddie, 11 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren, 7 great-great grandchildren (one more on the way), many nieces, nephews and friends, as well as her friend and caregiver Sheralyn Doherty.
