Cindy
Jenkins
Dec 2, 1960 — Jul 24, 2022
Wife, Momma, Grammy
Cindy Jenkins, 61, of Ranger died Sunday, July 24, 2022, in Hendrick Medical Center in Abilene, Texas. A memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, July 30, 2022, at Double Mountain Cemetery in Aspermont, Texas.
In the year 1960, Cindy was born in Hamlin, Texas, as the first daughter of Donnie Moorhead and Sara Neal. She later moved to Ranger and attended school there from elementary to part of high school. She did not complete high school but went on to attend TSTC in Abilene, Texas, where she graduated top of her class with a certified pharmacy technician license.
She married the love of her life at a young age in Ranger. Cindy Moorhead Jenkins and Jack Jenkins officially married in 1975, and they would go on to be together for 47 years. In 1978 there was a flood, and during this time Cindy went into labor. Later that day, their first and only son, Jody Brian Jenkins, was born. Jody grew up and he had three kids of his own: Jolie Brianna, Jalie Brenee and Eden Evangeline Jenkins.
Cindy had many interests, including her family, pets, gardening, reading, and playing poker with friends. She always showed up to her kid's and her grandkids' sporting events, where you would often find her keeping score and cheering them on. Her grandkids meant the world to her, and she would often have them over for sleepovers, crafts, movie nights, and ice cream sundaes. Her son and grandchildren would regularly gather at her house for family dinners. Cindy adored and cared for many animals throughout her life, including dogs, cats, and birds. Whenever family came over, you would often see her sitting on her swing or watering her beautiful plants. In addition to being a wonderful gardener, she was also an avid reader, and whenever she wasn't spending time with her family or plants, she often had a book in hand. In between books and gardening, Cindy and Jack would frequently visit their friend's house almost every weekend to play poker with long-time friends Mitch and Judge Ward, and Cindy's cousin, Lance Morgan. Her memory lives on through her family, who she always went the extra mile to care for.
On July 24, 2022, Cindy joined her grandparents L.D. and Sally Juanita Moorhead in heaven.
She is survived by her parents, Sara Neal, Donnie Moorhead, and step-mother Sue Moorhead; sister and brother-in-law, Mickey and Osie Dow; husband, Jack Jenkins; son and daughter-in-law, Jody and Nancy Jenkins; and her grandchildren, Jolie, Jalie, and Eden Jenkins.
