Fahren Craig Buchanan, 75, of Clyde died Sunday, January 2, 2022 at his home surrounded by family. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, January 7, 2022 at Elmwood Funeral Home Chapel in Abilene with Pastor Dan Murray officiating under the direction of Bailey Howard Funeral Home of Clyde. A private burial will follow. Visitation will be from 5:30 until 7:30 p.m. Thursday at Bailey Howard Funeral Home of Clyde.
Craig was born November 10, 1946 in Ranger to Hilary and JoAnn (Harris) Buchanan. He graduated from Putnam High School. He moved to Clyde in 1978 and was a member of the Cowboy Heritage Church and the Telephone Pioneers. Craig gave his heart to the Lord in March 1959. He worked for AT&T for 38 years, retiring as construction foreman. After retirement, he worked for Vulcan and Blake Fulenwider.
Craig loved to travel and vacation, spending as much time as possible at his home in Ruidoso, New Mexico. He also loved to hunt, especially elk hunting with the Baker brothers. He loved his family, friends and four-legged dog, Daisy, with all of his heart and will be greatly missed by all of them.
He is survived by his partner of 28 years, Beth Sells of Clyde; son, Michael Buchanan and wife Misti of Baird; daughter, Cynthia (Cindy) Ann Coronado and husband Eddie of Abilene; Beth's son, Britt Sells of California; two brothers, Conrad Buchanan and wife Shirley of Clyde and Blayne Buchanan and wife Melinda of Baird; four grandchildren, Josh Curtis, Meredith McMillian, Maegan Quinn and Shelby Buchanan and four great grandchildren, Aisley, Jaxon and Austin Curtis and Maelynn Quinn.
Craig was preceded in death by his parents, stepfather, Hurshel Wagley, brother, Brent Buchanan and sister, Jean Ann Smith.
