Obituary

Cynthia Ann Steph passed from this life on September 2, 2023. She was born to A.D. and Florence Lemon of Byers, Texas on July 6th, 1934. She was preceded in death by three brothers; Pete, Skeeter and Gene Lemon and her sister, Vivian Allen. She was also preceded in death by her sons, Rocky and Paul Russell Steph.

Besides being a loving mother and a homemaker, she managed her husband's independent practice as a psychologist in Tempe, Arizona and made significant contributions to its success over a period of 17 years.

Ann loved sailing and flying, and her happiest days were those at the helm of one of the several sailing vessels she owned with her husband and lived aboard with him for many months at a time in the Bahamas and the Virgin Islands. She was fearless in all those adventures and was always eager to explore new islands not visited before.

Ann had a deep love for animals and was constantly adding to a wide menagerie of critters whenever she was "on the farm" between sailing passages. All these traits were passed on to her daughter, Tammy, her grandchildren Tiffany, Ashley, Dusty, Jessica, Haley Jo, and her great grandchildren, Liam, Lucia, Hailey Mae, Harper and Jameson Russell.

Ann is survived by her husband Joe, and all those mentioned above who, along with their mates, will be keeping her vibrant loving spirit active and alive in their own young families.

A celebration of Ann's life will be observed at a future date, when her husband has passed, and their ashes will be scattered on her favorite reef near Green Turtle Cay in the Bahamas. Their ashes will join those of their youngest son, Rusty, already resting on that beautiful reef now.

In lieu of flowers, those wishing to express a remembrance of Ann may want to consider a gift to Hospice of the Big Country, 4601 Hartford, Abilene, Texas 79605 or https://westtexasrehab.org/honorarium-donation
