David Lee Bell, 83, of Eula passed away Tuesday, December 26, 2023, in an Abilene hospital. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, December 29, 2023, at Bible Baptist Church with Pastor Larry Hooper and Rodney Bell officiating under the direction of Bailey Howard Funeral Home of Clyde. Burial will follow in the Eula Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. Thursday, December 28, 2023, at the funeral home.
David was born January 5, 1940, in Ranger to Gordon and Beatrice (Hollis) Bell. He attended schools in Cross Plains and Putnam. He married Oneta Carrell in Putnam on May 16, 1958. He worked as a truck tire salesman for Harold Crawford Firestone, Sears, Wilder Tires and lastly for Tom's Tire World. David and Oneta moved to Eula from Abilene in 1984 and were members of Bible Baptist Church.
He is survived by two sons, David Lynn Bell and wife Nikki of Antlers, Oklahoma and Rodney Kip Bell and wife Tricia of Abilene; two daughters, Seleta Jenkins of Eula and Shelly Midgett and husband Scott of Lubbock; one brother, Billy Don Bell and wife Kay of Cottonwood; ten grandchildren, William Bell, Joseph Bell and wife Bethany, Christina Strother and husband Gerod, Stacy Theilen and husband Cale, Corey Jenkins and wife Rylee, Amanda Midgett, Colton Midgett and wife Macy, Dawson Bell and wife Trenaty, Jennifer Warren and Kevin Moon and wife Maya; and 13 ½ great grandchildren, Kylee and Easton Theilen, Maddie and Brayden Strother, Jet Jenkins, Teagan Ramos, Kobe Midgett, Ryan Bell, Keith, Casey and Cody Warren, Leo and Emmett Moon and one on the way, Wiley David Midgett and special friend, Tim VanZandt of Eula.
David was preceded in death by his parents, Gordon and Beatrice; his wife, Oneta in 2012; one brother, Dewey Lynn Bell; his grandson, Shawn Bell and son-in-law, George Jenkins.
