David Joe Byrd, 65, of Weatherford, formerly of Clyde died Wednesday, February 3, 2021 at a Fort Worth hospice facility. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, February 9, 2021 at Greenwood Memorial Park, Fort Worth with Pastor Larry Hooper officiating under the direction of Bailey Howard Funeral Home of Clyde. He will be in state from 1:00 until 6:00 p.m. Sunday and 9:00 a.m. until 6:00 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.

Joe was born August 9, 1955 in Fort Lewis, Washington to Jim and Mary (Gabbert) Byrd. He attended Clyde High School. He married Tammie Jennings in Clyde on November 21, 1975. Joe was the equipment manager for LoneStar Transportation and had been with the company and coworkers he loved for 32 years. They moved to Weatherford from Clyde in 1999. He was a member of the Willow Park Baptist Church.

He is survived by his mother, Mary Ruth Baty of Clyde; his wife of 45 years, Tammie Byrd of Weatherford; son Drew Byrd and wife Stephanie of Colleyville; two brothers, Jerry Cutbirth and wife Linda of Phoenix, Arizona and Jack Byrd of Austin; two sisters, Janie Seibold and husband Danny of Fort Worth and Sara Gilliam of Gardner, Kansas; two grandchildren, Pearl and Grady Byrd and many other relatives and friends.
