David Lee Denunzio, 89, of Oplin died Friday, July 5, 2024, at an Abilene care facility. A "Celebration of Life" will be held at 11:00 am Saturday, August 10, 2024, at the Oplin Community Center.

David was born May 25, 1935, in Louisville, Kentucky to Joseph and Helen (Fisher) Denunzio. He graduated from Fern Creek Traditional High School in 1954 and was later inducted into their Athletic Hall of Fame. In 1958 he earned his bachelor's degree in business from Indiana University. He married Alice (Owens) Morris in Seal Beach, California on December 29, 1982. In 1998 he retired as a CPA and moved to Texas from California. He enjoyed going to good restaurants, was an avid fisherman and enjoyed the great sport of golf.

He is survived by his sons, Michael (Eric) Denunzio of Bloomington, Indiana, Tom (Melissa) Denunzio of South Bend, Indiana; Daughters, Julie Morris of Winchester, Kentucky and Cheryl (Rubin) Galvan of Oplin, Texas; Grandchildren, Kamryn (David) Adams, Gilbert (Kelly) Calderon, Alisyn Smoot, Colleen (Justin) Arscott and Sarah Denunzio; Great-grandchildren, David and Abigail Adams and Barrett Calderon; Sisters-in-law, Judy (Butch) Woodard and Arletta (James) O'shields and many nieces and nephews.

David was preceded in death by his wife, Alice; his parents and parents-in-law (J.A. and Vera Owens) and sisters, Barbara Whitelaw and Jeannie Hagman.
