Julia "Diane" Green, 63, passed away Friday, July 30, 2021, at her home in Clyde. Graveside services will be 10:00 a.m. Monday, August 9, 2021, at the Oplin Cemetery.  Visitation will be from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. Sunday, August 8, 2021, at Bailey-Howard Funeral Home.

Diane was born September 5, 1957, in Abilene, to Claudell and Cordelia Rae Joy.  She was a 1976 graduate of Clyde High School.  Diane worked for the US Postal Service, retiring in the late 1990's after 25 years.  Upon her retirement she became a home builder, building and selling many homes in home divisions she developed.

Diane was very independent and plain spoken which allowed all who knew her to know where they stood.  Though she sometimes presented a very bold personality, her "salesperson personality," she was a very caring and loving mother and friend who would do anything for those she cared about.  She was an avid Texas Hold'em player until her health and ability to see caused her to be unable to drive her car. She was a very active member of First Baptist in Baird.

Diane is survived by her son, William Oran "Will" Green and wife Meg of Midland; two brothers, Jimmy Joy and wife Becky of Cross Plains and Jackie Joy of Petrolia; and her aunt and uncle, Oran "Sonny" and Belinda Mae Baines of Cross Plains.

She was preceded in death by her parents.
