Donald (Don) Lee Winters, 84, of Clyde went to his heavenly home Monday, January 28, 2019 in an Abilene hospital. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, January 31, 2019 at the First Baptist Church of Clyde with Dr. Toby Henson officiating under the direction of Bailey Howard Funeral Home of Clyde. Burial will follow in the Clyde Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

Don was born September 20, 1934 in Shamrock to Ray Ancel (Pete) Winters and Lelia (Higgins) Winters. He was raised in Amarillo and Shamrock (summers with his grandparents). He met and married the love of his life, Barbara Ann Smith, on June 10, 1955 and made his home in Amarillo until moving his family to Clyde in 1968. He managed the Farrington Fina Station on I-20 and FM 600 for many years until his early retirement. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Clyde.

Don had a great love for his family and music. He and some great friends started a band "The Neighbors" back in the 70's and traveled to all the nearby towns on weekends for musicals. Later, he and many friends would play at the Pizza House and at local nursing homes. He also enjoyed playing and singing with his sisters and brother-in-law at all family events. Don also enjoyed working in his large yard of flowers and trees and for many years took care of several other yards on his road for family.

He is survived by his children Cindy Gottschall and husband Dave of Clyde, Craig Winters and wife Tammy of Albany and Theresa Perrotta and husband Jay of Clyde; brother Dale Winters of Clyde; three sisters, Glenda Harkness of Anaheim, California, Willene Ratliff and husband Kenneth of Amarillo and Karon Smith and husband Roger of Amarillo; nine grandchildren and twenty great grandchildren.

Don was preceded in death by his loving wife Barbara Winters, parents Pete and Lelia Winters and one sister Laura Rhea Gray.
