Obituary

Donald Ray "Buddy" Howe crossed his final river on January 15, 2021, at the age of 74. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, January 18, 2021 in the Bailey Howard Funeral Home Chapel with Miller Scott officiating. Visitation will follow the service.

Buddy was born in Abilene, Texas on January 8, 1947 to Alvis Gaston Howe and Opal Martin Howe. Buddy was a lifelong resident of Clyde, Texas and joined the First Baptist Church at an early age, where he was still a member at the time of his passing. Buddy graduated from Clyde High School in 1965 where he was a celebrated athlete. After graduation he attended Tarleton State University. Buddy married Beverly Carroll Howe and they were married for 43 years at the time of Beverly's homegoing. Buddy owned his own service station in Clyde from a young age until he retired. It was the local watering spot for talk, a bottled coke and peanuts. Buddy was a good old' boy who believed in the motto of live and let live. He was a gentle giant with a quick wit and a dry sense of humor that stayed with him until his passing. Buddy lived the golden rule both personally and in business. Buddy did all the good he could by all the means he could.

Buddy was preceded in death by his parents, Alvis and Opal Howe, a brother Joe Howe, a sister Ellen "Sissy" Howe, and his wife of 43 years, Beverly Howe .

Buddy leaves behind a brother Carroll Howe (Valerie) of Vashon Washington, sister-in-law Pat Howe of Clyde, a son Lester Howe (Lou Ann) of West, Texas, daughter, Cindy Seabourn (Bert) of Clyde, Texas, and son Brad Johnson (Corey) of Austin, Texas. Buddy also left behind grandsons Jordan Howe, Nick Howe, Jonathan Seabourn, and granddaughter KaSarah Morgan (Chris) and great granddaughter Kinsler Mariam Morgan of Chiang Rai, Thailand. He also leaves behind a host of nieces and nephews and other loved ones who were like family.
