Donnie Meryl Richardson, Jr., (known lovingly by friends and family as “Big Donnie” and around town as “The Goat Man”), 68, of Clyde passed away Saturday, August 15, 2026, at his home. A celebration of life will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 22, 2026, at Bailey Howard Funeral Home Chapel in Clyde with Rev. Monty Barnett officiating.

Donnie was born November 23, 1957, in Oceanside, California to Donnie Meryl and Alma Joan (Broaddus) Richardson. He graduated from Plainview High School in 1976. He worked for many years as a car salesman and later worked for Bridgestone, retiring after 25 years. He married Cheryl Kaye Waddle in Clyde on September 14, 2002. Donnie was a collector of many things and considered a “scavenger” by his family and found many “treasures”. He loved many things outdoors and spending time with his family.

He is survived by his wife of 23 years, Cheryl Richardson; two daughters, Amber Collins Richardson of Clyde and Katianne Bernhard and husband Jordy of Coppell; one son, Jonathan Waddle of Clyde; two sisters, Cathy Brown and Donna Burge and husband Dale, all of Clyde; ten grandchildren, Clay, Jake, Ryan, Charli, Chai, Caroline, Harrison, Henry, Cooper and Braxton; one great granddaughter, Lynli; great friends, Chase Canada and Debbie Thompson of Clyde, Eddie Dale Rhoderick of Silverton, Mark Churchwell and Calvin Tipton, both of Plainview and many other relatives and friends and loved by several nieces and nephews.

Donnie was preceded in death by his parents, Donnie Sr. and Alma Joan; his first wife, Cynthia Gillespie Richardson and his sister, Kyme Garrett.
