Doris Marie Jennings Richardson, 89, of Clyde died Wednesday, June 1, 2022, in an Abilene hospice facility. A graveside service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, June 4, 2022, at Hawley Cemetery with Pastor Jessie Davis officiating under the direction of Bailey Howard Funeral Home of Clyde.

Doris was born May 5, 1933, in Tennessee Colony, Texas to Floyd William and Annie Mae (Ausborn) Jennings. She attended school in Hawley. She married Clair Edward Richardson in Fort Reno, Oklahoma on September 30, 1949. She was a military wife for 27 years. They lived in many different states throughout the years, coming back to Texas in 1968. Doris loved gardening and participated in the Abilene Famer's Market for many years.

Doris was known by many names. Her daddy called her Deuce, her husband called her Honey, her kids called her Mom and her grandkids called her Nama. She was proud of each of those titles. Her life was spent raising children, from siblings to her grandchildren, she loved them all. Doris also had a green thumb and always had a yard full of flowers and vegetables. She loved birds, especially hummingbirds. She will live on in her garden and as her flowers bloom each year, and the hummingbirds return in the spring, they will serve as a memorial of a life well lived and well loved.

She is survived by her son, Robert (Barefoot Bob) Edward Richardson of Aspermont; four daughters, Cheryl Lynn Poor and husband John of Abilene, Janet Marie Brinegar of Clyde, Pamela Jo Rasberry and husband Jeff of Lake Leon and Jackie Richardson Eoff and husband Russell of Clyde; ten grandchildren, Jay, Amanda, Lacey, Chelsey, Cobalt, Brandy, Alex, Cody, Seth and Tara; eleven great grandchildren, Marrissa, Jaylyn, Brody, Brooks, Luke, Lilly, Avery, Amelia, Myles, Nava and Lana; brothers-in-law, Johnny New of La Vernia and Dean Richardson and wife Phoebe of Altoona, Pennsylvania; sister-in-law, Wanda Jennings of Anson; best friend, Ella Burnett of Clyde and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.

Doris was preceded in death by her husband; her son, Mitchell Don Richardson; great grandson, Jack; brothers, Lee, Buford, Eugene, Melvin, Mack, Joe and Ray Jennings; sisters, Fay Jennings, Lula New and Thelma New.
