Doris Alene McCormick, 82, of Clyde, died Friday, August 27, 2021, at a local hospital.  Memorial services will be announced at a later date.

Doris was born September 24, 1938, in Atoka, Oklahoma, to David Bruce and Dollie (Withrow) Rieger.  She graduated from high school in Aurora, Colorado.  On October 15, 1960, in Dumas, Texas, she married Stanley Irwin McCormick, the man who would be her husband and best friend for over 51 years until his death on March 22, 2012.  Doris was a tax preparer, owning an H&R Block franchise until her retirement.  She and her husband were very active members of the Bible Baptist Church in Clyde.

Doris is survived by two sons, Robert David (R.D.) and wife Kathleen Michelle McCormick of Troy, Texas, and Michael Wayne and wife Stephanie Marie McCormick of Baird; one daughter, Kristie Louise McCormick Cox and husband John of Clyde; nine grandchildren, Chris McCormick, Jaclyn Mendez, Greg McCormick, Andrea Keller, Blake Shelley, John David Cox, II, Jeromy McCormick, Jacob McCormick and Sandra Clark; five great-grandchildren, Shane Rau, Sydney Clark, Kai Cox, Anora Cox and Bryce Clark; two brothers, Eugene and wife Sylvia Rieger of Branson, Mississippi, and Terry and wife Glenda Rieger of St. Francis, Kansas; one sister, Barbara Rieger of Lumberton, Texas; and several nieces and nephews.

Doris was preceded in death by her parents; one sister, Linda Rieger; one grandson, Bradley Joseph McCormick; one grandson-in-law, Charles Keller; and one great-grandson, Joel Cox.
