Earnest Gorden Rohus, 79, of Abilene died Tuesday, January 26, 2021 at home surrounded by loved ones. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, January 29, 2021 at the Bailey Howard Funeral Home Chapel of Clyde with Pastor Larry Hooper officiating. Burial will follow in the Clyde Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6:00 until 7:30 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

Earnest was born December 29, 1941 in Westbrook to Marvin and Gracie (Wise) Rohus. He graduated from Westbrook High School and moved to the Abilene area in the 1960's. He worked as a house painter for many years and was a member of the Baptist Church.

He is survived by three sons, Ben Rohus of Abilene, Pete Rohus of Dallas and Danny Hogue of Abilene; two daughters, Jeanie Campbell and husband Jon of Clyde and Ginger Rohus of Clyde; eleven grandchildren, Paxton, Devan, Destinee, Brooke, Casey, Kayleigh, Jonathan, Kayla, Luke, Madelyn and Ryan; seven great grandchildren, Liam, Sophia, Jaxon, Brantley, Carter, Braylee and Kalyn.

Earnest was preceded in death by his parents, his son Tracy Hogue and eleven brothers and sisters.
