Obituary

Eloise Newberry, 92, of Clyde passed away Monday, June 30, 2025, at a Clyde nursing home. A graveside service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, July 2, 2025, at Rule Cemetery with Sonny Self officiating under the direction of Bailey Howard Funeral Home of Clyde.

Eloise was born May 9, 1933, in Jayton to Roy Emerson and Pearl Geneva (Cluck) Self. She graduated from Rule High School. She worked as a bookkeeper for many years and was a member of Beltway Baptist Church.

She is survived by two daughters, Julie Boger of Abilene and Katy Matties and husband Robert of Eula; one sister, Jan Wolsch; five grandchildren, Molly Matties Jackson of Eula, Abbey Matties, Christopher Boger of Lubbock, Adam Boger of Abilene and Austin Boger of Abilene; many nieces, nephews and friends.

Eloise was preceded in death by her granddaughter, Laurie McKelvy.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff at Clyde Nursing Center and Big Country Hospice for their compassion and care for Eloise.
