Ervin Dale Spain passed away on June 27, 2023, at his home in Lubbock, Texas at the age of 85, after a long battle with cancer.  He served in the Air Force during the Korean War.  He worked 30 years for McDonnell Douglas as an airplane machinist.  After retiring he and his deceased wife, Marcia, were sojourners for Christ for 15 years.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Marcia; his parents, Willis and Gertrude; his daughter, Teressa and her husband Jo Ziegler; his son, Donnie Spain; his three brothers, Bill, Daton, and John Row; his sisters, Marie McQueen and Loretta Kay and his two granddaughters, Samantha Matthews and Crystal Vennoy.

Ervin is survived by his wife of the home, Mary Jane; daughter, Kathy Hayden of Baird, Texas; daughter-in-law, Ruby Spain of Claremore, Oklahoma; stepson, Keith Donnell and his wife Michell of Virginia; Clarissa Pyeatt and her husband Kenan of Abilene, Texas; Stephanie Gerhart and her husband David of Lubbock, Texas; his sister-in-law, Bea Spain of Livingston, Texas; stepbrother, Rafe Harshberger and his wife Linda of Abilene and his stepsister, Nelda Foster and her husband Eddie of Abilene, Texas; twelve grandchildren; ten great grandchildren and one great-great granddaughter; many nieces and nephews; a large church family and many friends.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, June 30, 2023, at Bailey Howard Funeral Home Chapel with Nathan Fritz officiating. He will be buried in Clyde Cemetery, alongside Marcia.
