Etta Lena Davis, 98, of Clyde, died Friday, February 8, 2019 at the Clyde Nursing Center.  Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P. M. Wednesday, February 13, 2019 at the Bailey Howard Funeral Home Chapel in Clyde.  Pastors Michel Terrill, Dennis Williams, and Tony Castro will be officiating. Visitation will be from 6:00 until 7:30 P.M. Tuesday at the funeral home.

Lena was born October 22, 1920 in Dothan, Eastland County, Texas to John Richard and Vina Lelah (Ferguson) Ivie.  She attended school in Clyde and married Joe Preston Davis in Clyde on June 3, 1942. She was a charter member of Cherry Heights Baptist Church where 55 years ago in 1963 she was part of the group that started the church known then as Cherry Heights Baptist Mission.  She was also a starting member of Inglesia Bautista El Calvario at Cherry Heights in 2014.

She is survived by two sons, Larry Davis and wife Louise of Clyde and Vern Davis and wife Melanie of Abilene, brother Gordon Ivie of Clyde; numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren and many other relatives and special friends at the Clyde Nursing Center.

Lena was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Preston in 1990, her daughter Elaine Bozeman in 2002, three sisters and three brothers.

Pallbearers will be her grandsons and great-grandsons.
