Frances Faye Gibson Mabb, 87, died Saturday, August 4, 2018, at an Abilene hospital. Funeral services are scheduled for 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, August 8, 2018, at the Bailey-Howard Funeral Home Chapel in Clyde with Joel Tobey, pastor of Denton Valley Baptist Church officiating. Burial will follow in the Kendrick Cemetery in Denton Valley. Visitation will be from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
Frances was born March 21, 1931, in Denton Valley to John Thomas and Velma Etta (Allen) Gibson. She grew up and attended school in Denton Valley, graduating in 1947. She was the widow of Tom Mabb whom she married in Abilene on June 16, 1967. Frances worked for Timex in Abilene for 18 years. For many years she had a home business called Fran's Fancy Fixin's making Raggedy Ann & Andy and stuffed toys. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Clyde.
Frances is survived by one son, James Randall Culpepper and wife Julie of Biloxi, Mississippi; one daughter, Dianna Fain of Irving; one step-son, Thomas Mabb, Jr. and wife Anita of Reno, Texas; one step-daughter, Mary Joyce Martin and husband Donald of Blossom, Texas; one sister, Janice Gibbs and husband Robert of Potosi; six grandchildren, Candice McClain of Brownwood, DJ and Georgianna Martin Blount of Paris, Ryan Fain of Irving, and Aaron and Erica Mabb of Paris, Shelbi Mabb of Springdale, Arizona, and Corey Hicks of Paris; and fourteen great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Tom Mabb; and one brother, Jimmy Douglas Gibson.
