Frankie Lynn Darnell, 83, of Clyde passed away Sunday, October 27, 2024, in an Abilene hospital. A memorial service will be held at 3:00 p.m. Saturday, November 2, 2024, at the Clyde First Baptist Church Fellowship Hall.

Frankie was born February 1, 1941, in Lampasas to Wilbert Ralph and Zieta Willie (Bagby) Darnell. He moved to Clyde from Coahoma in 1959 and graduated from Clyde High School in 1960. He married Leotha Faye Miller in Clyde on September 1, 1961, and was a member of the Baptist Church. He worked as a salesman for P. Lorillard and then worked at General Dynamics, which became Lockheed-Martin during his time there. He also worked as a salesman for Mayfield Paper Company for many years. He served as a steward for the Union during his time at Lockheed-Martin.

He is survived by two sons, Rodney Darnell and wife Carma of Clyde and Ross Darnell and wife Linda of Baird; one daughter, René Rose and husband Rick of Clyde; one brother, Larry Darnell of Azle; two sisters, Barbara Welch of Hudson Oaks and Billie Sue Darnell of Abilene; six grandchildren, Jolie Manuel and husband Randy of Clyde, Nicole Crocker and husband Curtis of Clyde, Justin Clark of Abilene, Reagan Biggs and husband Jeremy of Clyde, Nickalos Darnell and wife Heather of Clyde and Blayne Darnell and wife Erin of Burton; nine great grandchildren, Matthew Tibbit, Lola Clark, Cameron Manuel, Layla Crocker, Sunni Thweat, Graham Biggs, Swayze Darnell, Maggie Biggs and Emersyn Darnell and many other relatives and friends.

Frankie was preceded in death by his wife, Faye; two brothers, W.R. and Harold Darnell and his granddaughter, Kristina Rose.
