Freida Mae Davis, 83, of Clyde died Sunday, April 10, 2022, at Permian Residential Care Center, Andrews, Texas. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, April 14, 2022, at Clyde First Baptist Church with Dr. Toby Henson officiating. Burial will follow in Clyde Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6:00 until 7:30 p.m. Wednesday at Bailey Howard Funeral Home of Clyde.
Freida was born August 11, 1938, in Wellman, Texas to Lonnie and Lela Mae (Singleton) Gilbreath. She was the baby of the family and graduated from Clyde High School in 1956. She married Robert "Buddy" Davis on December 31, 1986, in Baird. Freida was a longtime member of the Clyde First Baptist Church.
She loved everyone, especially her kids, grandkids and great grandkids. Her smile lit up the room and her laugh was contagious. She loved working in her yard. Her flowers grew bigger than any we had ever seen. She loved passing down her secrets on how to do it. She was loved by everyone.
She is survived by her son, Keith Wood and wife Tina of Coleman; daughter, Kellye Rodriguez and husband Frank of Andrews; brother, Bob Gilbreath of Arizona; son-in-law, Richard Holden of Eula; grandchildren, Kimberly Coates and husband Rocky of Coahoma, Kathryn Lopez and husband Josh of Clovis, California, Kortni Pool and husband Brandon of Lamesa and Kody Bodine and wife Ann of San Angelo; great grandchildren, Cherith, Christian, Colton, Braiden, Emilee, Paisley, Alexis, Trinity, Bayne, Brynlee, Liam, Bryker, Blayde, Clayton and Baby Callie and several nieces, nephews and cousins that she dearly loved.
Freida was preceded in death by her parents; her sisters, Thelma, Maurine, Norma Lee and Doris June; brothers, Willard and Bill; her daughter, Karen Holden and her husband, Robert "Buddy" Davis.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations to Clyde First Baptist Church, Funeral Meal Fund, or your favorite charity.
