Gayle Marie Ash, 74, of Clyde died Monday, September 6, 2021 at home. A memorial service will be held at a later date in Catawissa, Pennsylvania.

Gayle was born September 9, 1946 in Pottsville, Pennsylvania to John and Rebecca (Long) Bowers. She graduated from Pottsville High School. She worked as a molding machine operator in Deer Lake, Pennsylvania, a nurses aide at a few nursing homes in Schuylkill County, Pennsylvania and she also worked at Pottsville Republican Newspaper. She married Thomas J. Ash in Deer Lake, Pennsylvania on October 5, 2002 and was a member of the Hillcrest Church of Christ.

She is survived by her husband, Thomas Ash of Clyde; step-daughter, Rosalie Post and husband Gregory of Baird; step-son, Thomas N. Ash and wife Barbara of Schuylkill Haven, Pennsylvania; two sisters, Nancy Davis of Schuylkill Haven, Pennsylvania and Mary Whalen of Allentown, Pennsylvania; two step-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

Gayle was preceded in death by her son, Jimmy Bowers; brothers, Joseph, John and Norman Bowers and sister, Arlene McIntire.
