Georgia Lea Shores, 91, of Eula passed away Monday, August 14, 2023, at her daughter's home in Abilene. A graveside service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Monday, August 28, 2023, at Eula Cemetery under the direction of Bailey Howard Funeral Home of Clyde. Visitation will be from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

Georgia was born February 11, 1932, in Trenton, Missouri to Elmer and Goldie (Bennett) Gardner. She attended schools in Missouri and married J.R. Shores in Bethany, Missouri on April 29, 1950. They moved to Eula in 1969. She worked for Timex for a few years and from 1973 until 1981 she worked in the cafeteria for Eula ISD.

She is survived by her son, Gary Wayne Shores and wife Charla of Clyde; her daughter, Tammy Jean Click of Abilene; her sister, Shirley McCartney of Clyde; six grandchildren, Stephen Shores, Wesley Shores, Crisha Harrell, Brandy McFarland, Cherie Bogart and Anthony LaSagna; eighteen great grandchildren and seven great-great grandchildren.

Georgia was preceded in death by her husband, J.R.; her son, Terry Don Shores; brother, Donald Gardner and son-in-law, Bobby Click, Jr.
