Obituary

Glenda Kay Patton, 80, of Clyde died Friday, September 10, 2021 at home. Memorial services are pending with Bailey Howard Funeral Home of Clyde.

Glenda was born April 20, 1941 in Loraine to James and Lola (Honea) Mahoney. She attended Clyde ISD in her earlier years and graduated from Big Spring High School. She married William (Bill) Hugh Patton in Big Spring on December 30, 1961. They moved to Clyde from Dallas in 1966. Glenda was a gemologist for J. Shea Jewelers and a member of the Episcopal Church of the Heavenly Rest.

She is survived by her son, Sean Patton and wife Sheila of Celina; daughter, Shari Engard of Clyde; four grandchildren, Brandon Patton of Park City, Utah, Blake Patton of Celina, Brycen Patton of Celina and Joshua Engard of Omaha, Nebraska; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins, including Wanda Medley and her "younger brother", Robert (Nubbin) Mahoney; special lifetime gal pals, Reba Ceniglis and Gwen Coonrod, whom she considered sisters and special friends, Sylvia Atwell, M/M Norm Baxter and Kay Givens-Dugas.

Glenda was preceded in death by her parents, James and Lola Mahoney; her husband Bill; two brothers, Robert M. and James Mahoney and two sisters-in-law, Helen and Rilla Mahoney.

Glenda received excellent care from many fabulous doctors and nurses: including Dr. Steve Gao, along with his amazing nursing staff, as well as fantastic home care from both Kindred at Home and Kindred Home Hospice.

In lieu of flowers, a donation is greatly appreciated to Kindred Hospice, Hendrick Hospital Foundation or any charity of choice.
