Glenda Faye Smith, 82, of Dudley died Wednesday, May 6, 2020 at her home. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, May 9, 2020 at the Smith Family picnic ground, 11866 County Road 220, Abilene with Billy Berny and Terry Chrane officiating under the direction of Bailey Howard Funeral Home of Clyde. Burial will follow in the Dudley Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until service time on Saturday.
Glenda was born October 9, 1937 in Callahan County to Lloyd and Vernie (West) McMillan. She graduated from Cross Plains High School and married Tommy Ray Smith in Cross Plains on June 6, 1953. They moved to Potosi from Cross Plains in 1956 and then to Dudley in 1964. Glenda was a homemaker and a member of the Highway 36 Church of Christ.
She is survived by her husband of 66 years, Tommy Smith; two sons, Terry Smith and wife Vonda of Denton Valley and Rickey Smith and wife Sandra of Abilene; daughter Karran Stites and husband Kenny of Abilene; sister Judy Gibbs and husband Horace of Eula; nine grandchildren and fourteen great grandchildren.
Glenda was preceded in death by her parents, her son Darran Smith, brother Bill, two sisters, Ernalee Havner and Patsy Hunt.
