Harold Dean "Shorty" Allen, 84, of Abilene died Monday, April 18, 2022, in an Abilene hospice facility. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, April 22, 2022, at Fort Phantom Baptist Church with Joe Foreman officiating under the direction of Bailey Howard Funeral Home of Clyde. Burial will follow in Phantom Hill Cemetery.

Shorty was born March 21, 1938, in Abilene to Roy Allen and Opal Williams. He married Wanda Jean Tomm in Abilene on July 8, 1957. He worked as a heavy equipment operator most of his life. Shorty loved to farm, ranch and hunt, especially dove hunting. He was a member of the Fort Phantom Baptist Church.

He is survived by three sons, Mike Allen and wife Dana of Eula, Dean Allen and wife Shelley of Hamby and Jack Allen of Nugent; daughter, Tammie Allen Zuniga and husband Mike of Abilene; 14 grandchildren; 24 great grandchildren

Harold was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Wanda, on January 21, 2022, and his daughter, Debra Allen Seals.
