Obituary

Heather Joanne English, 44, of Clyde passed away Sunday, April 27, 2025, at an Abilene hospital. Funeral services with military honors will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, May 3, 2025, at Bailey Howard Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Ray Vinson officiating.

Heather was born August 11, 1980, in Harlan, Iowa to Larry and Debbie (Kite) Buck. She graduated high school in Harlan and went on to earn her bachelor's degree in graphic arts. She married Chris English in Gatesville on August 17, 2010, and they moved to Clyde shortly after. She served her country in the US Army from 2001 until 2015. During this time, she earned many medals and awards, including Iraq Campaign Medal with three campaign stars, National Defense Service Medal and Army Commendation Medal, just to name a few. Heather served as Treasurer for Texas Hunters for Heroes for a few years but was most known as and proud of being a soldier, wife, mother and grandmother.

She is survived by her father, Larry Buck of Clyde; her mother, Debbie Kite of Harlan, Iowa; her husband, Chris English of Clyde; two sons, Nicholas English and Jacob English and wife Emmerald, all of Clyde; her daughter, Brooklynn English of Clyde; two brothers, Dustin Buck and wife Martha of Mineral Wells and James Black of Nebraska; her sister, Angie Ausborn and husband Aaron of Iowa; three grandchildren, Adrian, Salem and Creed and a special friend, Ryan Clemens and many other relatives and friends.
