Isadore Brossett, 85, of Abilene died Friday, March 4, 2022, in an Abilene hospital. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, March 12, 2022, at Bailey Howard Funeral Home Chapel in Clyde with Pastor Oran Rake officiating. Burial will follow in Dudley Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

Isadore was born August 5, 1936, in Lena, Louisiana to Louis and Felicity (Kerry) Brossett. He attended school in Cloutierville, Louisiana and came to the Abilene area in the mid 1950's when he was working for the railroad. He met and married his first wife, Ella Marie Lackey, shortly after coming to Abilene in 1957. She preceded him in death in 1979. Isadore married Nita Shipman in Abilene on February 20, 1982. He worked for Gooch Packing Plant for 35 years, retiring as foreman. After retiring, he worked at Johnston Elementary School as a custodian. Following this, he started his own lawn mowing service. He was a member of Crossway Baptist Church.

He is survived by his wife, Nita Brossett of Abilene; sons, Lawrence Brossett and wife Debra of Willow Park, James Bradshaw and wife Audrey of Tye and Michael Bradshaw of Abilene; daughters, Mary Brossett of Abilene and Delana Williams and husband Billy of Midlothian; sister, Ruby Lee Cheatwood of Louisiana; sisters-in-law, Georgia Yawn of Dudley, Linda Miller and husband Byron of Springtown and Barbara Liggett of Grand Rapids, Ohio; 18 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

Isadore was preceded in death by his first wife, Ella Marie Lackey Brossett; daughter, Kathleen Holligan; two sisters and three brothers.
