Obituary

James Lloyd "Jimmy" Breeding, 88, died Saturday, February 8, 2025, surrounded by family at his home in Clyde. Funeral services are scheduled for 10:00 am Wednesday, February 12, 2025, at Bailey-Howard Funeral Home Chapel in Clyde with Pastor Toby Henson officiating. Grandsons will be pallbearers. Great grandsons will be honorary pallbearers. Burial will follow in the Oplin Cemetery with military honors.  Visitation will be on Tuesday, February 11th from 5:00 to 7:00 pm at Bailey-Howard Funeral Home.

Jimmy was born in Abilene, Texas to William P. Breeding and Opal Campbell Breeding on March 24th, 1936. He joined the United States Navy in May of 1953 and served on the USS- Pawcatuck, USS Wyandot, USS Coral Sea and USS Forrestal.

Jimmy and Irma ViDoris Roberson married December 26th, 1953, at the Parsonage of Brother Riley Fugitt. He was a member of Denton Valley Baptist Church in Denton Valley, Texas and a Master Mason; member of John Sayles Masonic Lodge 1408. Jimmy was a Journeyman Electrician for 45 years and was a member of IBEW #20.

Jimmy was preceded in death by his parents William Breeding and Opal DeLuga; brother, Robert Breeding and sister-in-law Martha Breeding, brother, David C. Breeding, and his brother-in-law J.W. Willoughby.

He is survived by his wife of 71 years, Irma ViDoris Breeding; daughters, Venessa Young (Kelly), Valerie Cantrell (Curtis); son, James L. Breeding II (Leona); grandchildren, Vesti Wyatt (Brandon), Vasha Aguirre (Erick), James L. (Trey) Breeding III (Allison), Robert Travis Breeding, Caleb Cantrell, Aaron Cantrell (Elie); great-grandchildren, Cannon and Carlee Breeding, Davis and Anna Wyatt, Elias, August and Rosa Aguirre, and Charlotte, Carter and Meredith Cantrell; his sisters, Barbara Willoughby and Una Davis (Les) and numerous extended relatives.

Jimmy's family would like to extend a special thanks to his wonderful Hendrick Hospice Care team Jason Murillo and Robert Castro and, the rest of the hospice staff.
