James Glen Loper, 55, of Abilene died Saturday, February 15, 2020 in a Fort Worth hospice facility. A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, February 21, 2020 at the Dudley Cemetery with Chaplain Charles Goodnight officiating under the direction of Bailey Howard Funeral Home of Clyde. Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. Friday prior to the service.
James was born July 7, 1964 in Monahans to Don Max and Jan (Burleson) Loper. He graduated from Balmorhea High School and then served in the U.S. Army. After his military service, he worked as a construction superintendent.
He is survived by two brothers, Jerry Don Loper and wife Holli of Roanoke and Joey Dean Loper of Abilene; nephews, Troy Loper and Landry Loper, both of Roanoke; uncles, Glen Loper, James (Peanut) Burleson and wife Sandra and Henry Burleson and wife LeAnn, all of Abilene; aunts, Ru Jones and husband Russell of Abilene and Ann Harris of Austin and special friends, Lela Rose and Charles Dick of Abilene.
James was proceeded in death by his parents, brother Jeffrey Loper and nephew Jared Loper.
