James Leroy Maner, 78, of Lafayette, Louisiana, formerly of Clyde, Texas, died Tuesday, August 30, 2022. A graveside service will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Wednesday, November 23, 2022, at the Clyde Cemetery.
James was born June 16, 1944, in Clyde to Charles Carlton and Beulah Clementine (Tate) Maner. He was a 1962 graduate of Clyde High School. He served in the US Army during the Korean War and later worked at DuPont Chemical as a planner and scheduler. He enjoyed spending time with his family and was an active Dallas Cowboys, Houston Astros, and Texas Longhorn sports fan. He has lived in Victoria, Texas, Clyde, Texas, and later in Lafayette, Louisiana. During his time in Clyde, he was an active member of the First Baptist Church.
He is survived by his son, James Maner; grandson, Colt (10); granddaughter, Keaton Maner (9); his niece, Kristi Maner; great nieces, Kayelynn Maner (17) and Chloe Andel (12).
James was preceded in death by his mother, Beulah Maner (died 2010); father, Charles "Carl" Maner; brother, Charles Carlton Maner, Jr.; brother, Johnny Maner; sister, Carlene Roberson and daughter, Rita Mae Maner.
