James Wayne Rackley, 75, of Clyde passed away on Tuesday, October 3, 2023, at his home. A memorial service will be held at the Texas State Veterans Cemetery at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, October 12, 2023.

James was born July 18, 1948, in Duplin County, North Carolina to James A. and Martha Marie (Murphy) Rackley. He grew up and attended school in Wilmington, North Carolina. He served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam Era and was very proud of his service. He retired from the United States Post Office in Abilene as a mail carrier after 20 years of service.

He is survived by many friends, including Wallace and Paula McDaniel of Clyde, Robert and Lori Boyd of Baird, Richard Hall of Eula, Ray Hines of Eastland, Sheley Bullock-Macartney of Clyde, Kallyn Gomez of Clyde, Pam Ensminger of Clyde,  Ray Guerner of Slayton, Bill Thompson of Abilene and Dick Curry of White Settlement.
