Janice Gale Paulson, 69, died February 15, 2024, at her home in Clyde, Texas. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. April 26, 2024, at Bailey Howard Funeral Home Chapel with
Janice was born September 2,1954 in Lake Charles, Louisiana to Floyd T. and Mary A. Burks. Her father was a career soldier in the Air Force and Army. Throughout his career the family was transferred to military stations in Louisiana, Texas, Delaware, Georgia, Virginia and California. Janice's last school was Clyde High School in 1971.
She attended post-secondary training at a barber school in Abilene. She worked part-time in various jobs in Abilene, Clyde, Mineral Wells, Texas. After moving to Washington state, she worked in a frame shop in Olympia, Washington; all the family enjoy art and family photographs that she professionally framed.
Her interests included family, traveling, ceramics, gardening and jewelry making. She spent as much as she could with her granddaughters. Janice loved her pets, they were like her children.
Janice is survived by her partner, Galen Ledford; mother, Mary Burks, sons, Shannon Fraser, Chris Lewis, and Robert Phillips; sister, Laura (Kit) Niemann; brothers, Larry and Allen Burks; granddaughters, Kayla and Kylie Fraser and Audra and Jayda Phillips. She was preceded in death by her father, Floyd Burks.
