Jerry Donald Schaeffer, 85, of Baird, died Friday, October 21, 2022.  Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, October 31, 2022, at the Texas State Veterans Cemetery at Abilene with Ron Keener officiating under the direction of Bailey Howard Funeral Home of Clyde.

Jerry was born April 8, 1937, in Duncan, Oklahoma, to Jewel and Inez (Boulware) Schaeffer.  Jerry was a graduate of Lamesa High School.  He married Sandra Lewis on April 21, 1960, in Lovington, New Mexico.  Jerry and Sandra lived in Abilene for many years where he owned a used car business.  They retired to Lake Brownwood where they lived for several years before moving to Baird in 2018.

Jerry is survived by his wife of 62 years, Sandra Schaeffer, of Baird; his son, Jimmy Schaeffer and wife Beth of Abilene; and his daughter, Donna Hall and husband David of Clyde.  He is also survived by 5 grandchildren: Zack Hall and wife Taylor, Josh Hall and wife Lee Ann, Tifani Cameron and husband Christian, Lauren Schaeffer and Jared Schaeffer, and 5 great-grandchildren: Leah, Jordan, Samual, Lincoln and Kaylee.
