Jess Richard Archa, of Eula, passed away at the age of 70 on Wednesday, October 28, 2020 in an Abilene hospital. Funeral services will be held at 12:00 p.m. Monday, November 2, 2020 at the Eula First Baptist Church with Pastor Larry Adams officiating under the direction of Bailey Howard Funeral Home of Clyde. Burial will follow in the Eula Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. Sunday, November 1, 2020 at the funeral home.

Jess was born July 2, 1950 in Abilene to Clifford Lynn (Red) and Sarah Jane (French) Archa. He graduated from Eula High School in 1968. Jess met Charlene Smith in 1985 and they were married December 23, 1989 in Tye. Jess and Charlene were very active in the Texas Church Builders and they fostered several children through their life. Jess worked in the oilfield as a tool pusher for many years, until retiring due to work related accidents. Jess and his family owned and operated Archa's Butcher Shop on Tye. He was a member of the Eula First Baptist Church.

He is survived by three sons, Michael Archa of Eula, Jacob Archa of Eula and Jess Parent of Conroe; two daughters, Jessica Archa and husband William Gregware and Tamara Archa of Eula; brother Clifford Dale Archa and wife Susan of Tye; sister Vena Jane Venable of Wimberley; grandchildren, Kyleigh, Jaley, Billy, Celeste and Landen; great grandchildren, Blakely and Haidyn; he was known as "Pops" to many children, too many to list, everyone was family to him.

Jess was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife Dena Archa, his second wife Charlene; son Michael Jay Archa, daughter Heather Dawn Archa and two brothers, Alvin Lynn and Allen Wayne Archa.
