Jimmy Dale Blackwell, 84, of Clyde, died Friday, January 7, 2022, at Abilene Hendrick Hospice.  Visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 11, 2022, at Bailey-Howard Funeral Home in Clyde.  Services will be at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, January 12, 2022, at the Clyde Church of Christ with David Peterson officiating.  Burial will follow at Elmwood Cemetery under the direction of Bailey-Howard Funeral Home.

Jimmy was born November 18, 1937, in Eastland to Robert Edward and Nora Cordelia (Luttrell) Blackwell. He graduated high school in Scranton and eared his Associates Degree in Applied Arts from Cisco Junior College. He served in the U.S. Army from 1958 until 1961.  Jimmy married Becky Warren in Baird on June 18, 1982. He retired from the Abilene State School as a ground's keeper.  Jimmy previously worked for the railroad.  He was a member of Clyde Church of Christ and loved to go hunting and fishing.

Jimmy was preceded in death by his father, Robert "Bob" Edward Blackwell; mother, Nora Blackwell Green; stepfather, Arza Green and brothers, Bobby Edward and Jerry Lee Blackwell

He is survived by his wife, Rebecca "Becky" Blackwell; sons, Randy Dale Blackwell and wife Kara and Jim Ryan Blackwell and wife Cristen; four grandchildren, Aden Blackwell, Caleb Blackwell, Karter Blackwell, and Landri Blackwell.
