Jimmy Estes Newton, 81, of Abilene passed away on Thursday, July 6, 2023, at an Abilene care center.  Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, July 10, 2023, in the Kendrick Cemetery in Denton Valley with Rev. David Cason officiating.  Services are under the direction of Bailey-Howard Funeral Home in Clyde.

Jimmy was born October 15, 1941, in Abilene to Luther and Sudie (Reynolds) Newton. He graduated from Abilene High School and has been a lifetime resident of the Abilene area. He married Judy Irene Kiser in Abilene on October 24, 1960.  Jimmy worked as a plumber for many years. He worked for H & H Plumbing and retired from RB Choate Plumbing after 42 years.

Jimmy is survived by two sons, Bobby Glyn Newton of Austin and James Donald Newton and wife Penny of Clyde; two daughters, Dana Lynn Schaffer and husband Tim of Navarro Mills and Rhonda Blake Fowler and husband Rick of Abilene; 12 grandchildren; and 21 great-grandchildren.

Jimmy was preceded in death by his parents, Luther and Sudie Newton; his wife, Judy; three brothers, Luke, Bill and Johnny Newton; and three sisters, Mary Parmelly, Lola Jones and Frankie Hayes.

Pallbearers will be Brandon Newton, Trey Newton, Blaise Fowler, Cody Newton, Brad Newton and Blake Newton.  Honorary pallbearers will be Daryl Beyer, Donald Miller, Butch Kennedy and R.B. Choate.
